The Conch Festival Returns to Turks and Caicos This Fall

The Turks & Caicos Islands celebrates Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s in traditional ways, but they also add a cultural twist and there are some festivities that are truly not to be missed!! Chief amongst these celebrations is the annual Conch Festival. Now in it’s 13th year, the Conch Festival is one of the best celebrations that the islands has to offer!!

This year, the festivities kick off with a Calypso event on Friday November 25th, 2016. The next day, Saturday November 26th, is when the full-blown festival occurs.

Turks and Caicos Annual Conch Festival Details

The Conch Festival is a full-day event and quite a party, marking the start of the winter holiday season on Providenciales.

On Saturday, November 27, the family-friendly Conch Festival will start at noon in Blue Hills. An entry fee of $25 enables a sampling of all the dishes and a vote for Best in Show. Along with conch tasting there will be a host of conch-related and kids activities, a Mojito-making contest, local entertainment and the annual Pot of Gold drawing where The Rotary Club of Providenciales gives away $10,000 to one lucky raffle ticket purchaser. A cameo appearance by Santa Claus is also highly likely.
